Continuing...
....So that is really kinda sad when you discover unexplainable powers that you never got to use. And when you discover your powers, you are carted off to camp, where you are trained for battle and heroism. You stay in the Hermes cabin (the Messenger God) until you are claimed by your parent, as Hermes isn't very picky. He's a nice guy, that one. He helped Percy on his journey to the Sea of Monsters. I really don't know what more to say. But the book is a good read for modern fantasy/fiction lovers as well as mythologically obsessed people. It has a lot of references to modern daily life. I'll bring them to life when there's enough bijli. Bye!

Grover Underwood
Hey!!! Random title, I know. I was just reading Percy Jackson for the second time. This font is called Mason, which you can download from @ www.artemis-fowl.com . I get obsessed easily with fantasy novels, Artemis Fowl being no exception, as I fell in love with him in like the 4th Grade. And known people cannot miss my fanaticism when I go after these things. Little things are like these, when I download what most people call crap. I call it devotion, respect, and being true and loyal to what you like. Crazy, I know. But it doesn’t hurt to get detached from the real world for a while…
I should stop as I guess you’d get lost in my highly expressive train of thought. By the way, I was reading Percy Jackson, and even though it’s this Greek-mythology-compact-version, sorta kiddy novel, it’s funny, and kind of concentrates on relationships. For one, the Gods. They’re all related, but they don’t have DNA,so they’re still allowed to date and all of that. And the friendships. When a Greek God and a mortal human being (one who can see through the Gods’ enchantments, a Mist) get kids, the kids are heroes and are danger magnets to monsters who, even after they’re maimed, are never permanently destroyed. This relates to a society that constantly changes, where people must constantly keep evil at bay as they’re never really purged of it. And then the fact that most of the kids aren’t claimed or recognised by their parents until a lil later than they have to, by which time they will supposedly be trained enuf to handle monsters, or never claimed at all.
I am watching 3 Idiots now, and I really need to go. More on relationships in the next post. Buh-bye.

Finally...Time to Chuck Resolutions...Only to Make Room for More
I saw 3 Idiots yesterday...REALLY FUNNY I'D GIVE IT A FIVE*****!!!! And I cried through the whole last quarter, starting from when Raju tried to commit suicide. But I was mostly crying with laughter after that. And I suggest reading the book version, Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat, which even though not much compared to the movie, is good. I gotta go study as a test's right round the corner soon. I hope I can control the temptation to listen to music for another half an hour (which, by the way, keeps repeating every 5 minutes).
And I have a holiday this Thursday and Friday. Thursday for Sankranthi which is an Indian Festival, and Friday for a partial solar eclipse which happens to be during school hours. And we have half a day of school on Saturday. But that's only because we have a test, or they wouldn't have let there be school on a Saturday, I guess. Seriously, it's time people realised the value of holidays, now at the advent of the decade. Make resolutions while the time lasts!! And this is longer lasting as it's a decade thing.
And speaking of tests, I better go study as one is right round the corner. Bye!!

Happy New Year Yet Again
By the way, my real name is Shraddha Murali, for those of you who are given the link to this blog but do not really know who's posting. I prefer to go by the pen name Sam, which is my initials reordered. And you can contact me at shraddha_murali@yahoo.co.in . No spam, please. That stuff really bugs me. If you want an example, there was this really famous guy called Bob who posted on various social networking sites like fb, orkut, youtube, goodreads etc. I don't know whether it was a guy or girl or gang, but he seemed really annoying to a lot of people in the cyberworld.
And speaking of books earlier in the post, yes, I am a reader. And lately I just finished the Percy Jackson series. I'll give a review in the next post, as it's 1am and I'm supposed to be in bed by now. Really, I'll visit tomorrow to give a proper goodbye to the Christmas holidays.
Bye for now....!!!
